Pamporovo, March 2024

Third winter retreat organized, and here we are again in Pamporovo. Nestled within the Rhodopes, this emblematic mountain range in the southwest of Bulgaria, Pamporovo continues to stand out as one of the country’s favorite ski resorts. My fondness for this place remains undiminished, mainly due to its unique location: 250 km away from Sofia, it is significantly less accessible than Borovets and Bansko, which are just an hour away from the capital. This extra distance ensures a more intimate experience, free from the usual crowds and long waits at the ski lifts.

This year, we are a group of 19 enthusiasts, among whom many are loyal followers of the adventures I offer; for some, it is their fifth participation. The mix of profiles creates, as always, a special chemistry within the group. On the slopes as on the yoga mats, the different levels harmonize perfectly. The yoga sessions, in particular, are a real asset: one class each evening during winter to unwind and release the tensions accumulated after a day of skiing.

However, the real gem of Pamporovo lies in its breathtaking landscapes. The Rhodopes, being the most extensive mountain range in Bulgaria, cover nearly one-seventh of the national territory. The immersion is complete, far from the urban hustle and bustle, where each run offers breathtaking panoramas, beautified by the conifers lining the slopes, adding an almost magical touch to the environment.

Pamporovo retains its place in my heart, also thanks to our base, the Perelik Hotel and its exceptional spa. The luxury of being able to relax in the sauna, the steam room, or to immerse oneself in the semi-Olympic pool after skiing and yoga is invaluable.

A huge thank you to all the participants of this edition, which was once again an unforgettable journey! These shared moments will remain etched in our memory, witnesses to the magic of Pamporovo and our common passion.
